Scope and Contents
"The Weekly Outlook" is a weekly publication. The collection has a single issue and a bound volume set. The single issue is Volume III, Number 12 and was published on September 18, 1897. It is 8 pages. The bound volume contains issues July 11, 1896, Volume 1, Number 1 through June 25, 1897, Volume II, Number 26. n Volume I, Number 17 is misnumbered 16.
The bound volume is in half reddish-brown leather and a textured cloth sides. On the recto side of the first page, "F.E. Harrison" handwritten in pencil. The item was bound by Egbert, Fidlar, and Chambers Printers, Book Binders, and Blank Book Makers from Davenport, Iowa.
"The Weekly Outlook" featured local, national, and sometime international news. Mostly it focus on local news and history. Susan Glaspell, a well-known author, was the social reporter. It contains Cowles/Huot History of Davenport segments and some obituaries appear.
