This collection contains "The Weekly Outlook" and photocopies of poetry by Emil Geisler.
"The Weekly Outlook" is a weekly publication. The collection has a single issue and a bound volume set. The single issue is Volume III [?], Number 12 and was published on September 18, 1897. It is 8 pages. The bound volume contains issues July 11, 1896, Volume 1, Number 1 through June 25, 1897, Volume II, Number 26. Two of the issues have printing errors. In Volume I, Number 17 is misnumbered 16 and in Volume II, Number 8 is misnumbered 7 on th cover.
The bound volume is in half reddish-brown leather and a textured cloth sides. On the recto side of the first page, "F.E. Harrison" handwritten in pencil. The item was bound by Egbert, Fidlar, and Chambers Printers, Book Binders, and Blank Book Makers from Davenport, Iowa.
"The Weekly Outlook" featured local, national, and sometime international news. Mostly it focus on local news and history. Susan Glaspell, a well-known author, was the social reporter. It contains Cowles/Huot History of Davenport segments and some obituaries appear.
In addition to this, in an archival folder, there are of photocopies of poetry by Emil Geisler. The poetry was handwritten in an unnumbered album. Included in the album are music scores, photographs, and newspaper clippings.
