Scope and Contents
This panoramic print was taken in June 1940 by Davenport, Iowa photographer Fromader. It is a large group of people posed in several rows outdoors. Many are holding accordians. The Daily Times on Friday, June 21, 1940 reported invitations were accepted by 300 accordion and piano students of the Honolulu Conservatory of Music for a garden party given annyually in their honor by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Saas, owners of the conservatory, at their home - 1410 East Eleventh Street in Davenport. It mentions an annual group picture being taken. The accordion band was said to be the largest in Iowa.
The donor stated Blue Grass residents Otto and Maude Martz and their daughter Erna Mae Martz (age 11 years) are in the photograph.
