Biographical / Historical

Gail Ann Hodges was born to Beverly Cassily and Herbert James "Jim" Hodges in Davenport, Iowa April 7, 1955. She chose to become an administrative assistant, working at Modern Woodmen of America and ultimately became their historian/archivist. She married LeRoy Levis in 1976 and had two children, Katie and Michael.

Gail was an avid historian and genealogist, belonging to the Scott County Iowa Genealogical Society for many years and serving in a number of board positions. She was a lifelong learner and contributed to many publications providing access to information about members of the fraternal organization of Modern Woodman.

Gail came from a family that believed in service and civic involvement. She was a constant cheerleader for her children and volunteered untold hours toward school and church activities.

Gail suffered a stroke and passed away in March of 2014 leaving family and friends much too soon.
