 Collection
Identifier: 2021-06

Scope and Contents

This is a collection of personal papers, photographs and mementos.

Paper placemats from the World War II era picturing "War Theatres" from the Golden Lion Grille at 210 Harrison are included as well as birth and death certificates, military documents, pencil drawings and various certificates of recognition including one from the Scott County Farewell Committee.

A highlight is a Fromader studio panoramic black and white print of Class 9A from Frank. L. Smart Intermediate School dated June 1937. Names of some of the individuals are recorded on the back of the print.

Other items include three mounted prints, two of which were taken in Wapello, Iowa and several unidentified black and white prints. There are two prints autographed by child actor Jon Provost "To Bill" in the collection.

One of the mounted images is of three generations: Vern Mullen, his mother Roxy (Jamison) Mullen and grandmother Sarah (Harris) Jamison. These would be William's father, paternal grandmother and great-grandmother.

An obituary for Mrs. Blanche Dickey from 1971 was found inside the Blackhawk yearbook from this collection. This would be William Mullen's maternal grandmother.
