Identifier: 2021-24

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a cabinet card taken by Clifford & Son at 210-212 Cedar Street in Muscatine, Iowa of a couple and a portrait taken by Ellison studio in Traer, Iowa of a couple. There is no information available as to the identify of the individuals pictured. The photographers were active in those towns from 1893-1900.

The third item is a Souvenir from Drumm School, District No. 9 in Butler Township, Scott County, Iowa. It includes a list of pupils, school board members, the county superintendent and the principal, Edw. H. Suiter. There are two small snapshots glued inside, presumably of teacher Suiter and the children who attended the school in 1924-1925.

A fourth item is a sepia toned photograph of a large classroom of children seated at their desks with a teacher standing in the background. On the blackboard is written "Musserville School 1st Grade". The image was mounted at one time but that backing has cracked and broken off. There is a large tear from top edge to middle of the image. Received encapsulated and left as received.
