Living Whist and Kirmess Library Benefit Program
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one item. It is a paper bound booklet of a series of benefit performances for the Davenport Library held at the Turner Grand Opera House. Performances were under the direction of Professor F. L. Clendenin.
The program "Living Whist" was held on Tuesday and Thursday and featured Schillinger's Orchestra and dancers from Prof. Clendenin's dance academy. Miss Lillian E. Smith assisted as pianist.
The Program for "Kirmess" was held Wednesday and Friday and again featured Schillinger's Orchestra and the dance students. Additionally on Friday an exercis in Foil Fencing was given by the Turner Society and a free ball was given to the participants of "Living Whist" and "Kirmess" and their friends.
The program contains many advertisements for local businesses. It was printed by T.H. Ellis and a nice portrait of him is also included.
