DPL Oral History Projects

 Collection
Identifier: OH

Scope and Contents

This collection is made up of over 150 interviews split into nine different series with each series representing a different project. Early project recordings used lapel or table microphones, audio cassette tape recorders and were duplicated and transcribed by various individuals. More recent recordings are in MP3 format and were recorded digitally.

In October 2023, most of the audio cassette tapes were digitized for preservation and accessibility.

Most of the WAR series interviews have been transcribed. Other projects have minimal transcription. Digitally recorded interviews have not been transcribed to date.

The bulk of the interviews come from the World War II/Korean War project. There are a number of accessioned collateral items that correspond to interviews or were donated toward the project, but donors chose not to participate in interviews.
