Scope and Contents

This collection consists of bridal shower and wedding card recieved by Grover and Edna Arp in celebration of their nuptials in February of 1941. Many of the cards were signed by relatives and friends. The cards depict the designs of the early 1940s.

Biographical / Historical

Grover B. Arp was born on January 21, 1918 to Henry W. and Lizzie (Doerscher) Arp in LeClaire, Iowa. Edna S. Studt was born on March 12, 1918 to Herman Julius Studt and Anna Marie Sofia Poppe in Davenport, Iowa. Grover and Edna married on February 25, 1941. At the time of their marriage, Grover was employed as a farmer or a farmer labor. The witnesses to this marriage ceremony are Marjorie Schmidt and DuWayne W. Beckmann. They had two children Ronald and Darlene.
