Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the Historical Sketch and General Roster of August Wentz Post. No. 1 G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) of Davenport, Iowa from 1881-1925. Found in between pages 18-19, a photograph of George Leamer in his uniform during his service in the Civil war, a photograph of George Leamer, Gus Reading, and James H. Wilson in 1920 at Mr. Leamer's farm, and two articles published in 1905 and 1960 relating recollections about the Fourth of July during George Leamer's service.
