Scope and Contents

This collection consists of four year books owned the Paulus siblings. The 1938 and 1939 Blackhawk yearbooks were owned by Nora Paulus. The 1943 Blackhawk belonged to Sadie Paulus and the 1945 Blackhawk belonged to Ernest Paulus.

Found within the 1938 yearbook are Nora's 60th class reunion programs (2 copies), a listing of classmates attending the event, a letter about a "Keep-in-Touch" luncheon in 2004, a letter from David Lane, the associate superintendent, who was working to create the Davenport Community Schools first directory of graduates.

Found with the 1939 yearbook are Nora's 50th class reunion programs (2 copies), a list of the classmates who attended the reunion, and an advertisement from Zoeckler's Stationery and Office Supplies.

Found within the 1943 yearbook are Sadie's invitation/programs for her 5th and 15th class reunions, a letter from Bill Wundrum about their 50th class reunion with a listing of missing classmates addresses, a newspaper clipping sent by Lorraine Burke of the seventh annual Davenport high school gym circus published in "The Davenport Democrat and Leader" on April 3, 1941 on page 15, a copy of air raid instructions, and a letter from Pete.
