Biographical / Historical

The Iowa Sesquicentennial Celebration and Parade of Scott County was one of many events held to celebrate the 150 years of Iowa Statehood. It was a part of the Sesquicentennial Salute. The events scheduled started off the county celebration of Iowa 150's birthday. Along with the parade, a race and a "family 'Old-Fashioned Picnic in the Park'" ("Celebrate 150 Years of Iowa"). The parade route "is River Drive east to Perry, the north to 2nd Street, then 2nd west to Gaines, and back to the staging area" ("Celebrate 150 Years of Iowa"). The parade boasted around 270 entries.
