Photographic images in different formats taken by Wilfred Juckem of local events and sites dating from 1940-2008 including slides and prints of VanderVeer [Botanical] Park especially the Conservatory from 1968-2000s, Davenport's Skybridge 2008, 2001 flood of downtown Davenport, 2004 flooding at John O'Donnell Stadium, fire at Case plant in Mount Joy and other miscellaneous scenes.

Biographical / Historical

Mr. Juckem was born in 1915 in Sheboygan, Wis., to Arvin and Martha Juckem. Following high school, he attended evening classes at Sheboygan Business College. He experienced 80 years of technological changes in industry, beginning at age 14 as a summer timekeeper at Jenkins Machinery Co., Sheboygan Falls, Wis. He joined Eagle Signal of Moline in 1945 and began its Davenport Plant in 1947 with 17 employees and rose there to VP of manufacturing. In 1962 he was named Assistant to the President of EW Bliss Co., Canton, Ohio, and in 1965, VP of Administration. He returned to Eagle Signal, Davenport, in 1968 as VP and Division Manager, retiring in 1979. He then became Chairman of the Board of Sears Manufacturing Co.

He passed away in February 2013.
