Scope and Contents
Two small albums, one inscribed: Hazel Ruth Shaw, 2016 Farnam Street, Davenport, IA. Both contain prints of a variety of sizes, many of which show local scenes such as VanderVeer Park, Credit Island, Rock Island depot, Rock Island Arsenal as well as some travel scenes and many have some sort of identification, whether place or name of person.
Inscriptions indicate these were taken 1906-1910 most likely by Miss Shaw. Most show young men and women in casual poses. Names include: Mother, Monty (her brother), Ila Daly, J.C. Riddle, Caroline Riddle, Mr. E.B. Whitmore, Edith Gifford, and there are several loose images inside the cover of one album with names as well.

Biographical / Historical
Hazel Ruth Shaw was born in 1887 to William Newton and Alice Shaw. She worked as a stenographer from at least 1906-1910 at a railroad office in Davenport. In September 1910 she married Robert Edwin Tyson at her residence 2016 Farnam Street. The young couple then moved to Wisconsin.
