Immaculate Conception Academy Class Montage 1930 & Graduation Group; Free Studio
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of two 11 x 14" prints from Frank A. Free Studio. One is a montage of the Class of June 1930 from the Immaculate Conception Academy, Davenport, Iowa, including 34 individual portraits of young women. The young women are identified by names below their images.
The second print features a group portrait of 23 teenage girls wearing identical light colored dresses, dark shoes, and stocking. Each girl is holding a rolled document and wearing a ribbon pinned to her collar. It is speculated that this image depicts an eighth grade graduation from a Catholic school taken circa 1925.
An ancestor of the donor, Kathleen Lotspeich, one of the students, is identified as being in both photographs.
