David Adams Genealogy Collection
Scope and Contents
Ten archival boxes of portraiture associated with Stafford, Suiter, Morgan, Ward, Adams families of Scott County, Iowa; prints, acetate negatives, tintypes, CDVs, photographic postcards, Polaroids, copies, digital copies.
Eighteen archival boxes of genealogical documentation for same families. All connected with Scott County, Iowa particularly the Le Claire and rural Le Claire areas.
This collection of photographs and compilations of research came from a long time Scott County Iowa Genealogical Society member who designated the Society as the recipient of his genealogy collection pertaining to the Scott County, Iowa area in particular. Many of the images were included within binders of family history information; many more were duplicates found in boxes and envelopes.
Photographs are from studios in Iowa, Nebraska, New York, Illinois, Colorado. There is a great deal of portraiture, family groups and a number of interesting rural scenes depicting early farmsteads, etc.
