Biographical / Historical
Dorothy was born 21 May 1922 in Davenport IA to parents Harold A. and Dorothea (PANTON) PHOENIX.
She had one younger brother, John.
She married Harry J. SPRECKEN Jr. in Davenport on 13 February 1943. According to newspaper accounts at that time, she graduated from St. Katharine’s school and then Bennett Junior college in Millbrook, N.Y. in the spring of 1942.
The couple had one daughter, Sally.
Dorothy had resided in Sturgis, St. Joseph Co. Michigan at the time of her death on 3 January 1982 in Michigan. She is memorialized at Portage, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan along with her husband.
In Harry J. SPRECKEN’s 1991 obituary, Dorothy’s brother, John, is listed as living in Bettendorf, IA.
