Biographical / Historical
Founded in 1963, Davenport Horticultural Society is dedicated to encouraging the science of horticulture and developing the public’s enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of plants and the environment. The following objectives have been developed over the course of DHS history:
-Bring together gardeners, both amateur, novice and professional
-Exchange experiences, ideas, and knowledge
-Advance the science of horticulture
-Encourage conservation
-Increase gardening interest among members and the public
-Help maintain the Stampe Lilac Garden in Duck Creek Park, Davenport, IA
