Scope and Contents
"Uncommon Sense" is a newsletter created by Davenport physician Dr. George Morrissey, family doctor for the donor's family. He provided this document to his patients for their use with the general theme of reassurance in medical matters. Per the December 1964 issue nearly 10,000 copies were distributed in three years.
Betty Caughlin was a relative of the donor and a long time employee of the Davenport Public Library. She wrote the "History of the Davenport Public Library" in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Masters degree in Library Science in 1952.
