Bulk of photographs pertain to the activities of Iowa National Guard Battery B and Battery D during their Mexican border service in 1916 - 1917 taken by Davenport Times staff photographer Guy Bacon. They include George Washington documents such as an authorization for discharge from military custody of one Milton Edmondson, June 1, 1781, a permission to a Mr. John Edwards with his negro boy Jack to pass and repass the picket at Rampo, September 9, 1780, two shillings #4988 dated March 20, 1777, and eight dollars #133101 dated August 14, 1776.
